Botox FAQ

What is Botox?

Botox, short for Botulinum toxin, is a purified protein derived from a bacteria used in cosmetic procedures to temporarily relax muscles and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

How much does it cost?

Our treatments start at £190 for one area.

1 area: £190
2 areas: £225
3 areas: £260

If you would like it in more than 3 areas, each additional area costs £70.

How does it work?

It works by blocking nerve signals in the treated muscles, which causes them to relax. This relaxation helps to smooth out wrinkles and lines on the skin’s surface.

What areas can be treated?

Common treatment areas include forehead lines, crow’s feet, frown lines between the eyebrows, bunny lines, lip lines, chin dimpling and neck bands. It can also be used for medical purposes, such as treating excessive sweating and chronic migraines.

How long do the results last?

The effects typically last around 3 to 6 months. Over time, the treated muscles gradually regain their activity, and further treatments may be needed.

Is the procedure painful?

The injections are generally well-tolerated and relatively painless. Some individuals may experience minor discomfort or a brief stinging sensation at the injection site.

We can administer a topical anaesthetic to minimise any discomfort. Most patients report little or no pain during treatment.

Is there any downtime after the procedure?

The injections involve minimal downtime. You can typically resume your daily activities immediately after the treatment. However, avoiding intense exercise and lying down for a few hours after the procedure is advisable.

Are there any side effects?

Common side effects include temporary redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection sites. These effects are usually temporary and resolve on their own.

Are the results immediate?

No, the results are not immediate. It usually takes a few days to start seeing the effects, with full results becoming noticeable within 1 to 2 weeks after the treatment.

Is there anyone who should not get Botox?

Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, as well as those with certain neuromuscular disorders, should avoid the injections. Discussing your medical history with your provider before undergoing the treatment is essential.
